2024' KIDS WORK SHOP
This year, it will be held at Horikawa Oike Gallery.
Theme: "Crossing Borders"
Part 1:
The first workshop focuses on the traditional Kyoto festival "Gion Matsuri." We are partnering with the "Let's Go to Gion Matsuri with Kids Executive Committee," a group that creatively introduces Kyoto's traditional culture with new methods. Tamio will handle the story, which was published on note in 2020 and later as a book titled "Haruko's Gion Matsuri." We will turn it into a dramatic reading. We will have narrators and stage actors to provide a rich workshop experience. Through this festival that has been ongoing for over 1,000 years, participants will learn about the stories of their own land through hands-on experiences.
Part 2:
In the second workshop, we will conduct the craft workshop "WRAP (DRESS!)" together with families from foreign countries living in Kyoto. This will be a bold and highly creative session using packaging materials. Announcements will be made in both English and Japanese simultaneously. Let's make friends across borders.
Creating something means building new relationships with others. The feelings of fear, anxiety, and nervousness are valuable emotions that come from starting something new. With health as a priority, let's proceed with fun and enjoyment. We look forward to having you join us!
